Inspection Types
An inspection type is the back bone of an inspection. It contains and connects all of your configurations and allows you to easily create inspections without needing to spend time on configuration. Think of it as a measure twice, cut once feature.
Before creating an inspection type, you will need to setup each one of these configurations:
Choosing Your Properties
An inspection type combines teams, lists, message templates, alerts, and outcome sets to make it easy to create inspections with a common type. That means to create an inspection type, you must have at least one of each of those configurations created.
To create a basic inspection type, all you need to do is give it a name, select each one of each of the properties above, and then you're all set!

Custom Fields
Custom fields allow you to set additional parameters when creating an inspection. For example, by default you need to enter the recipient's contact information. If you add a custom field, such as a vehicle's make and model, the system would allow you to enter that information when you are creating the inspection.
You can make a field optional by unchecking the "Required" checkbox. Doing this will make it so the custom field will not be required to create an inspection with the respective inspection type.
